In NO Mood For Cellulite

I have to say that I actually hate even bringing up the topic of cellulite because it has been one of my biggest struggles throughout my life.  I am absolutely furious with the amount of money I have spent on specialty treatments were so bazaar such as laying in mud while being zapped with electricity, red-light therapy, some sort of sculpting machine that gets really hot, caffeine products, lotions, pills, scrubs, you name it and I am pretty sure all that effort with no reward costed in the ballpark of $10,000.  I know I can never get that money back so lesson learned but there have been some things that I have done that have decreased my cellulite by 70% and I am excited to share that with you today so you don’t have to go through the disappointing money pit I went through.

I would to start off by saying that the majority of women DOhave cellulite, even the most beautiful models, movie stars, and those glorious housewives that we all watch that have access to every treatment in the world still struggles with cellulite like everyone else.  With that being said what changed for me was in my thirties I started educating myself even more and taking care of my body and I know that many of us do that and still have cellulite but there is a difference between working out and taking care of yourself and really working out and taking care of yourself.  I remember taking one of my health courses in my Master’s Program and learned about this island where the people lived to be 110 years old and what I loved about this community was that they were beyond active in their 100s and mentally thriving, it was incredible.  I learned that they eat everything green, leafy and whole and knowing that I was born and raised on processed foods, soda, and food that is genetically modified I knew I had to make some changes.  I began to make some changes and started eating foods with less ingredients, fresh foods, less alcohol, less sugar consumption, and less dairy and my body began to change.  I kicked up my workouts with weights, boxing, and yoga five days a week and the results continued.  My body is by no means perfect but I can confidently wear a bikini at the beach and not have to walk backwards to the water or cover-up with embarrassment because I make the effort most days to feed my body with nutrition and real food. Our American diet for the most part does not consist of us growing our own foods and living off the land.  Our diet is mostly fast and convenient and if your food has a shelf life of a year than you need to know that what is preserving those items are sugar, salt, chemicals, or ingredients you cannot pronounce. You want your body to easily digest natural foods and you also want to rid your body of unwanted toxins by drinking lots of water or green teas.

We need to treat our bodies like the shrines that they are because even if you are not vein like I am, we still want our bodies to look good but most importantly, we want to feel good!  Find a routine that works for you and really think about all the good you are doing with every whole food you consume and every squat you take!

You Got This!
