Before Bed Body Booster!

How often after a long hard day at work, taking care of the house, children, dog etc. do we enjoy the moment and you know the moment I am talking about because it is that moment where you finally sit down and have some peace.  I know you all know it well and that peace is usually watching a favorite show, having a glass of wine, or catching up on some online sales.  Whatever your pleasure may be we are able to sit and do what we want to do during this moment and it feels GREAT!!

The only thing is the majority of time we are able to finally sit and have this moment is after dinner, which in turn translates to whatever you just ate not being able to metabolize as easy and increasing the chance that whatever you had for dinner is going to remain on our bodies in the form of extra weight.

What I am going to suggest is not easy for some people but if you make it a part of your routine or a family routine you will begin to see some changes in your body and changes in your sleep pattern.  If you are able to go for a walk after dinner this is ideal and a great habit to form.  I actually lost five pounds when I adopted my dog because I was going for more walks and we always went for a night walk after dinner.  However, if a post dinner walk isn't your thing then try before bedtime to make it a point to do a little energy burst.  I am notorious after long sitting periods to grab my free weights and do a few squats, arm exercises, and a mini ab workout.  I feel like it gives my body that little boost it needs to fire up and burn those dinner calories.  Sometimes I put on my headphones and sometimes I like the quite it depends on my mood but you arenā€™t really working up a sweat for this bedtime burst of energy, you are just jump starting your metabolism before bed.

Here is another reminder that the more muscle you have the more calories your body will burn at rest.  So, let this 5 to 15 minute workout be something that you incorporate into your before bedtime routine because you will feel great if you do!

My tip for you is to make it your own and change as you need to.  This is your before bed booster so take full advantage of it.

Enjoy your Boosting!
