Feel Good About Your Weekend and Social Splurges!
The truth is we have social lives that include parties,
celebrations, and nights out with friends. I think we can all agree that we want
to enjoy ourselves without feeling badly about ruining our healthy routine. I always want people to know that if you are
living a healthy lifestyle it is more than fine to splurge but just make sure
you are doing your best to balance what you are taking in to what you are
putting out. Plan for it with your
exercise routine, utilize the art of moderation of your guilty pleasure, and then
get back to your healthy lifestyle at the very next meal or snack if you can.
I think the weekends and vacations are absolutely the
hardest because so much damage can be done in such short amount of time. The best thing to do is on Sunday start to
get geared up for the week and make a very simple pineapple skin tea that will
help jump start your week. Check out the
recipe below:
Recipe:
1 Pineapple Skinned
2 Tablespoons Cinn. (You can add more if you like)
1 Tablespoon Organic Honey
Enough water to cover the pineapple skin
2 bags decaf green tea
Additional teas can also be added depending on what you
enjoy. I sometimes add apple cinnamon
tea and smooth move tea which is amazing right after the weekend!
Directions:
Boil skin in medium saucepan on a middle to low boil until
the skin begins to shrivel. During the
boiling process add your cinnamon and organic honey. Once the skin begins to slightly shrivel turn
the heat off and add your tea bags.
Cover your tea and let steep for as long as you like. I personally love strong tea so I let it sit
for an hour and then warm it but do as you feel. I will pour myself about 6-8 ounces and then
put the rest in a container for the next few days.
I drink my tea right before bed but I think it’s also great
to have it right after dinner so that you aren’t as tempted to reach for a
snack. I hope you love it as I do and
know that pineapple skin enzymes in it if you ever want to read up on it that
aid in digestion, stomach distention, and provide nutrients that will give your
body that little extra boost it may need.
I like to call it showing yourself a little love!!
I would love to hear what you think and if you have any good
combinations for us to try!
Happy Drinking!
