Getting in touch with your creative side:

Have you noticed that women in their thirties start to reintroduce themselves to their creative side again?  Everything you were too busy to do because you were raising little ones, in school, building your career, you name it and it kept us from concentrating on this wonderful side that we need to explore again and nurture.  We all have it in us and some of us are very lucky to have the opportunity to make it a part of a career or even a business but others myself included may still have a hard time reaching that creative side because it is easy to get distracted by life.  I am here to tell you that you are all amazing at so many things but make the effort to either get back into something you always loved or something you were always interested in because it will bring you peace, satisfaction, and joy within yourself and we all can use some of that.  If you look around there are so many outlets that can spark some inner passion such as paint classes, photography courses, writing, playing an instrument, gardening, clay classes, knitting, and let’s not forget the power of social media where you can join any kind of group, sell you masterpieces and meet people who can help take your creativity to the next level.  This is the time for us, we need this, and we deserve this.  I get completely inspired when I see people let their creativity flow because you never know where it is going to take you.

Let the creativity flow!!

  1. Thank you Heather. I am feeling an overwhelming sense of empowerment and excitement after reading your blog. We are all guilty of getting wrapped up with work, kids, housework, grocery shopping, preparing meals, appointments, errands etc etc etc that we neglect to see all the beauty around us. Taking much needed time out of our mundane schedules to explore our creative sides would surely give us a higher level of appreciation, fulfillment and contentment. I pledge to make time for avtivies and events that serve as nourishment for my soul.

    1. Thank you so much for your reply Soul Sista!! You are so right about the challenges of finding time to be creative with all the day to day responsibilities that come along with adulthood but finding the balance of enjoying your creativity with your family, friends, and yourself is key to this connection. This like everything else takes some effort but the result is positive and fulfilling and you will feel so alive in these moments. If you would like to share any of your experiences I would be so excited to hear about them!! Have a beautiful day!!
